Ambient IoT · Cellular-native

Batteryless visibility. Ubiquitous by design.

ecoUbi is developing a cellular-native Ambient IoT platform that gives organizations room-level visibility of reusable and high-churn assets using energy-harvesting tags, advanced signal detection and cloud intelligence designed for enterprise control.

Make assets easier to find, inventory more automatic and connected operations less dependent on replaceable batteries, manual scans and proprietary reader infrastructure.

The Opportunity

Billions of objects need visibility. They should not all need batteries.

Asset visibility still comes with difficult trade-offs. Manual and barcode-based processes require people and line-of-sight. Active trackers create battery replacement, maintenance and end-of-life burdens. Dedicated reader networks can add infrastructure, cost and complexity.

ecoUbi is developing a lighter architecture: energy-harvesting tags that interact with compatible 4G/5G signals, software that detects their signatures, and a cloud platform that turns those detections into useful asset events.

The Platform

From ambient radio energy to operational intelligence

A platform, not simply a tag — four layers designed to work together within compatible cellular environments.

Tag layer

ecoTag

An energy-harvesting tag designed to reflect a distinctive signal without a replaceable battery.

Detection layer

ecoDetect

Signal-processing intelligence designed to separate weak tag signatures from the surrounding wireless channel.

Cloud layer

ecoCloud

A cloud software layer designed to convert detections into enterprise-controlled asset identities, room-level location events, analytics and APIs.

See more. Scan less. Maintain less.

Automatic visibility

Create asset presence and movement events without relying on every item being manually scanned.

Fewer battery burdens

Reduce dependence on replaceable batteries and their maintenance cycles.

Lighter infrastructure

Reduce reliance on separate proprietary reader networks by integrating with compatible cellular environments.

Operational insight

Turn raw detections into inventory status, room-level location and workflow analytics.

Enterprise control

Keep asset identities and operational data governed by the organization using them.

A path to scale

Combine low-complexity tags with software, APIs and cellular ecosystem partnerships.

Industries

One platform. Multiple physical worlds.

Designed first for indoor, high-churn operations — reusable asset visibility, inventory automation and workflow intelligence.

Agri-food

Improve visibility of reusable crates, totes, pallets and handling assets across packing, storage, processing and distribution environments.

Pharma & life sciences

Support controlled-facility workflows with room-level visibility of reusable containers, cages, equipment and other non-patient assets. ecoUbi does not claim regulatory compliance or suitability for a validated regulated workflow until a deployment has been assessed and qualified.

Smart facilities

Locate shared tools, maintenance items and mobile equipment while reducing manual searches and fragmented records.

Sustainability

Ubiquitous intelligence should not create ubiquitous waste.

ecoUbi's sustainability ambition is to make more objects digitally visible while reducing the battery, maintenance and infrastructure burden per connected asset. The next generation of IoT should not require a disposable battery in every object, or a new reader network for every application.

Harvest energy

Design tags to operate without replaceable batteries wherever conditions allow.

Reuse infrastructure

Build toward compatible cellular environments instead of assuming a separate reader network for every application.

Extend asset life

Help organizations recover, reuse and circulate physical assets for longer.

Design for lifecycle

Evaluate materials, durability, manufacturing, repairability and end-of-life options.

Measure outcomes

Compare deployments against defined baselines — batteries avoided, scans reduced, assets recovered.

No green claims without evidence

Actual impact depends on tag design, deployment scale, infrastructure, asset recovery and end-of-life management. ecoUbi will report environmental benefits only when credible measurement supports them.

Pilots & Partners

Help define the future of Ambient IoT

ecoUbi is seeking Canadian pilot environments where asset visibility matters and current tracking methods create too much labour, maintenance, waste or infrastructure complexity — alongside technology and research collaborators. No partnership is implied to currently exist.

Feasibility

Define the asset, workflow, environment, required outcome and business case.

Controlled validation

Test detection, tag placement, coverage, event quality and operational fit.

Operational pilot

Connect selected workflows, dashboards or APIs and measure results.

Scale plan

Define network integration, tag supply, security, support and deployment economics.

Invited collaboration

  • Mobile operators and private-5G providers
  • RAN and network-equipment companies
  • Systems integrators
  • Semiconductor, module and tag manufacturers
  • Universities and applied-research centres

Strategic investors

A platform opportunity across tags, networks and enterprise intelligence — a commercialization path that begins with feasibility work, integration and pilots, and can scale through licensing and ecosystem partnerships.

FAQ

Common questions

What is ecoUbi?
ecoUbi is a cellular-native Ambient IoT platform in development. It combines energy-harvesting tags, signal detection and cloud software to create asset identity, presence and room-level location events.
Is ecoUbi simply a tag?
No. The tag is one part of an end-to-end platform that also includes signal processing, network integration, identity, analytics and enterprise APIs.
Do ecoUbi tags use batteries?
ecoTag is designed to operate without a replaceable battery by harvesting energy from its radio environment. The wider network and computing infrastructure still consume power.
Does ecoUbi replace RFID, barcodes or active trackers?
Not in every use case. ecoUbi may complement or provide an alternative where battery burden, scanning effort, reader infrastructure and cellular integration make its architecture valuable.
What location accuracy does ecoUbi provide?
The initial target is reliable indoor presence and room- or zone-level location events. Performance depends on facility conditions, network configuration, tag placement and required confidence.
Does it work outdoors?
Indoor operation is the initial commercialization focus. Outdoor, extended-range and dense multi-tag performance remain development priorities.
Who owns the data?
ecoUbi is designed around enterprise-controlled asset data. Ownership, access, retention and processing will be defined transparently in each commercial agreement.
Is ecoUbi commercially available?
ecoUbi is progressing from research to real-world validation and is selecting feasibility, pilot and technology partners, initially in Canada.
